今日あなたがここにいてくれて嬉しいです。私達が初めて出会えたこの総会に参加してくれてありがとうございます。
私達は皆さんに直接会えるのをずっと楽しみにしてましたが、このコロナの状況では難しいですね。でも今日このようにオンラインで会えて嬉しいです。私達の生活はコロナウィルスで一変し、誰もこのパンデミックをどうやって止められるか分かりません。そしてコロナウィルスの影響でフィリピンの全ての場所が隔離状態に置かれ、いくつかの施設は閉店しています。
隔離生活のことについて話させてください。私と私の家族はこの家の中に約一年間いました。そしていつも、どうやったら食べ物を買うための経済的支援を受けれるかを考えていました。正直そのとき私達には希望がありませんでした。私の父には職がなく、同時に貯金もなかったからです。それでも私達は諦めませんでした。
そんな時、マム・アベットとマム・クラベルが、EMSが経済的支援をすることを決めたと教えてくれました。私達は本当に嬉しかったです。私のスポンサーの方に、「私と私の家族を支えてくれてありがとう」と心の中でいつも言っていました。幸いなことに、私と私の家族はコロナ禍が始まってからずっと健康です。
最近は感染者が増加していないので外出することができ、いままでずっとしたかっとこと、おばあちゃんの家に遊びに行ったり、学用品を買うことができます。
私の勉強に関して言うと、コロナの影響で学校で授業が出来ないので、今もまだ家で勉強をしています。先生がいないので、家で勉強する時は配布されるプリントを使いながら自分で自分に教えています。夜中まで勉強をしなければいけないときは、たまに頭が痛くなります。
私は読んで答えることが好きです。でもたまに、先生がいない状況下では配布されるプリントの内容が理解できない時があります。そんな時はマム・クラベルに助けを求め、マム・クラベルは私を助けてくれます。幸いなことに、先生がいないこんな状況でも、落第点はもらっていません。
先生がいなくて大変なときも多いですが、いい成績を維持し、新しいことを学ぶために、これからも頑張ります。今日にいたるまで、EMSの奨学生になったことを後悔したことは一度もありません。なぜならEMSは私の人生を変え、かけがえのない存在になったからです。

I am glad that you are here today. Thank you for joining this meeting for our very first meet. We've been waiting this moment for so long to meet our kind hearted sponsors in person but because of the pandemic it is not possible to meet all of you in person. And this is it today we made it virtually. We all know how the pandemic changes our lives and we don't have any idea on how we could stop it. Because of this pandemic all places are quarantined and some establishments shutdown.
Let me go back in quarantine times, my family and I have been in this house for almost 1 year. We always think on how we could get some financial help for our daily food to eat. We almost lost our hopes during that time because my father had no job and at the same time didn’t have any savings to feed us. However, it did not stop us to think good and make ways. Lucky to know that time when Maam Abeth and Maam Clavel said that EMS would provide us money to buy some food to eat and that time we were so thankful and blessed. I always keep on saying ''thank you'' to my sponsors for all of their efforts and care to my family. In fact, right now, good to know that we are safe from the virus since it started and good to know that we can now somehow do the things we want to do like home visiting to my grandmother's house, buy some school supplies, and others because the cases are not rising. Unlike before we were prohibited to go outside.
And by the way regarding to my studies, I am still doing printed modules modality which means I am learning all by myself using printed papers. It sometimes causes me headache because even midnight I am still cramming for no reason. I think I just enjoyed reading and answering. I found it difficult sometimes because I don't understand some of the lessons there because the module is really confusing for me so I decided to ask Maam Clavel if she could help me with it, so Maam she helped me. Good to know that I don't have any failing grades even without a teacher with me. Now I keep on cramming and fighting even if it's a little hard for me just to maintain my good grade and to learn new things. Up until now, I never regretted to be part of this organization because it has changed my life and this really means a lot to me.

Thank you. These two simple words wouldn't be enough how grateful I am for the past years. One decade of being an EMS scholar is such a blessing. Imagine, there are many students out there but I'm one of the luckiest. Maybe, I didn't meet you personally but the way you support and cheer me up makes me think that you're meter far away from me. Thinking of the things you did to me makes me wanna hug you tight. No words of gratitude can explain how grateful I am to you, for becoming part of my journey. I've always been wondering if it weren't from EMS, I would never acknowledge of who and what I am right now. From the bottom of my heart, I will always thank EMS and all its stakeholders from being the strong foundation of the scholars like me. They make our dreams almost come true. For me, as long as there are people like them, there will ever be hope for every students like me, not only educationally but also morally. I will never be able to pay them back from they have given to me, but the success through hardships and trials in life together with them. I will offer to them my biggest gratitude and my successful life in the future as my way of paying back to them.
